Dairy Farm Manager – Glen Huon, Tasmania

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Dairy Farm Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our beautiful property in the Huon Valley. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys working with a small, passionate team, and takes pride in animal welfare and productivity.

The position may also suit a couple, with potential opportunities in calf rearing or involvement in our broader farm and cheesemaking enterprise.

You’ll be leading a herd of 80 cows milked through a 10-unit Herringbone parlour, supported by a small team, and working closely with our General Manager and farm consultant.

• Oversee and coordinate all farm activities – feeding, milk, herd health, reproduction, and grazing management.

• Implement and execute effective pasture renovation plans

• Supervise basic plant and machinery maintenance and assist with capital projects.

• Monitor and improve performance using production records and farm management software (Easy Dairy).

• Maintain accurate stock, treatment, and feeding records.

• Ensure fencing and water systems are maintained to a high standard.

• Lead, train, and inspire your team to create a positive, long-term work culture.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ dairy farm management experience.

• Solid technical knowledge of pasture-based dairy systems, animal husbandry, and Artificial Insemination.

• A leader who communicates well, solves problems practically, and motivates their team.

• Competent with farm management software (Easy Dairy preferred).

• Committed to animal welfare and pasture-based grazing systems.

• Seeking a long-term role with room to take on greater responsibility over time.

Our Glen Huon dairy is set on the banks of the Huon River, just 10 minutes from Huonville and 40 minutes from Hobart. We milk a mixed herd of Australian Shorthorn, Normande, Jersey and Brown Swiss cattle, 100% spring calving (mid-July to mid-September), producing the exceptional quality milk that goes into our world class award-winning cheeses.
