The Role
We are seeking an experienced Night Supervisor to join our distribution warehouse located in O'Connor, WA!
The Dairy Freezer Night Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing all nightshift warehouse operations, supporting existing supervisors, and ensuring the efficient and safe execution of tasks. This role demands strong leadership, hands-on experience in pick packing, and proficiency in operating high-reach forklifts.
Responsibilities
Dairy/Freezer Night Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Inventory management.
Supervise the receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods within the cold storage facility, while maintaining inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimise discrepancies.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams to replenish stock as needed.
Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Ensure operational efficiency within the warehouse
Identify operational issues and propose improvements.
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of perishable items and adherence to temperature control protocols.
Oversee equipment maintenance and repair schedules to minimise downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations.
Personnel management
Train, coach, and supervise night staff to meet picking standards.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Quality assurance
Implement quality control measures to ensure product integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
Monitor temperature and humidity levels within the cold storage facility to maintain optimal conditions for stored goods.
Equipment maintenance
Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
Schedule routine servicing to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in warehouse management, particularly in cold storage or refrigerated environments.
Strong knowledge of cold chain logistics, including temperature control requirements and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Proficiency in warehouse management software and systems, such as WMS (Warehouse Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning).
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.
Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed and adapt to changing business requirements.
LF Forklift ticket (essential).
Experience with RF scanners (perferred).
