Under new leadership and with an emphasis on increasing production capability, an exciting opportunity now exists for 2 x Cheese Makers/ Pasteurisers within our fast-paced organisation, responsible to produce a variety of cheese types, managing the aging process, ensuring quality control, and maintaining sanitation standards.
Responsibilities;
Daily production of cheese, including set-up, pasteurization and scheduling
Daily cleaning and sanitation of cheese production room and equipment as required by the food safe plan
Complying with all food safe requirements and standard operating procedures
Monitoring the production process, testing new recipes, and working collaboratively with other team members to produce high-quality cheese products
Position involves early starts at 4am, Monday to Thursday - shorter hours on Friday.
Skills & Knowledge;
Experience as a Cheese Maker/ Pasteuriser with a recognised commercial cheese manufacturer
Qualifications in Cheese Making highly desirable ( Certificate IV in Dairy Technology or equivalent)
Sound knowledge of HACCP systems and Good Manufacturing Practices
Highly effective communication and problem-solving skills
Physically fit to perform the role, able to lift 20Kg consistently and safely
Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical including instant drug and alcohol testing and,
A passion for artisan cheese and artisan cheesemaking
